Our chocky cat, Waita, went missing on Sunday, July 19, 2026. We searched for her in every way possible and were fortunate to have so many of our neighbors respond to our messages and missing-cat flyers. After many tireless nights of searching, knocking on doors, visiting animal shelters weekly, and spending thousands of dollars, sadly, Waita has still not been found.

In response to Waita’s disappearance, we decided to help start the Waita Watch initiative to support our neighbors who have also lost their cats.  Ian together with his dog, Tuna, continue searching for our neighbors’ missing cats while holding on to the hope that one day we will find Waita, too. We understand the heartache of losing a pet.
