Black cat, medium frame — thin, but slightly heavier-set than a typical short-haired black cat. Ample, very fuzzy fur (medium/long hair), with white hairs in the ears. Very sweet and gentle. Shy, but not fearful. Good with both cats and dogs — stayed mellow in a crate while a resident cat investigated him. Has a quiet, sad-sounding meow. Distinguishing mark: the tail has a healed scar near the end — it looks like it was caught on something or clawed by another animal — which makes the tail appear slightly bent at the tip. Believed male (the reporter referred to him as "he" throughout, with one "her" in passing). Exact street not yet confirmed. Surfaced through a Facebook post and comment thread ("Is this your guy?") before being picked up; the cat is currently in the finder's care.
